Poem 75: Rain-Shoeing

Fearing the trail
We pave mental way
Psyching up minds
For a rainy day

Scared to be cold
Yet rearing to go
We drive up mountain
And enter the snow.

Fastened with snowshoes
And covered in gear
In two-by-two pairs
We hike unaware

Suddenly someone
Has timely recall
Exchanging our run
For mountain-side crawl

Away from the road
And up to the trail
Scott carrying a load
Of back-breaking scale

GPS leading
We soon did arrive
Rain-proof unaiding
The sky soaked our jive
