Poem 187: Teddy Bear

Hello my sweet, soft Teddy Bear
Lying, oh, so very near.
Your arms are open wide to hug.
Your eyes are crisp and clear

You seem to smile, sweet and sure
Saying thoughts without a word.
For you've no mouth from which to speak.
You aren't as you once were.

For long ago, when we first met
Your mouth was drawn, by string inset.
Your smile was made, but now its seen
Through eyes of love from you to me.
